According to an English study, 15,000 children are injured every year on doors1.
Many of these injuries are due to the fact that normal doors on the hinge side have a gap where you can squeeze your fingers.
Normally, this problem is solved by additive parts, ie protective mechanisms that are put on the door. However, this also increases the maintenance costs.
I have developed a door system in which the protection mechanism is already integrated. Hidden gearings ensure a smooth travel. Thus, the maintenance costs and the risk of injury decrease. An elegant and minimalistic solution due to a flush surface without disturbing elements.
